What’s Around the Corner?

So far 2020 has not been a great year for a lot of people, businesses and for getting a lot of what we want to do, done. But for motor vehicle enthusiasts and those on the lookout for a new car, there are still quite a few exciting new models across a wide range of categories due for release in the coming months.

No doubt the effects of COVID-19 on manufacturing facilities and transport services across the globe will cause a few delays with the release plans for some car manufacturers.

To give your mood an uplift and to start those buying wheels turning in your mind, we’ll mention just a few that we’ve spied on in the motor industry news.

New Audi Models

Audi announced a massive list of new model arrivals for 2020. Some are now on the Australian market but some are still to make their appearance.

The Audi e-tron and e-tron Sportback are still scheduled for late 2020 arrival. These vehicles feature Audi’s first all-electric motor so no doubt their arrival is highly anticipated to see how they will compare with other high-end EVs. The V10 R8 Coupe is also on the 2020 release list as the V10 Spyder and the RS Q8.

The 4L biturbo V8 RS Q8 has especially attracted attention as Audi has stated it is the first in 25 years for the RS collection – a large sized SUV coupe that has the features of a high performance sports car. For business owners looking to acquire such vehicles, an ABN car loan might be a suitable financing option to consider.

The Genesis of Something Big?

For something more niche market – have you heard of the Genesis range? This is the luxury division of Hyundai (reminder of Toyota-Lexus) and is yet to have a big impact on the market in Australia. They have some models currently available and several others due for release later in 2020. Could be worth checking out and we’ll cover the range in greater detail in an upcoming news blog.

Still to Come…Chevrolet C8 Corvette

We can blame a lot of delays these days on COVID-19 but it seems that the delayed arrival of the Chevy Corvette is more to do with Holden closing their Australian operation. It will arrive as a left hand drive so will have to undergo the conversion. But even with an uncertain arrival, sometime in 2021, true sports car fans, especially those that long for the classic open-top 2-seater models, will no doubt consider it a worthwhile wait. While we can’t guarantee what interest rates will be available for car loans in 2021 (expected to stay low) you can always start talking loans with one of our consultants well out from delivery time.

Mainstream Market Appeal - Peugeot 208

From a general glance, yes you’d be right to think that the French manufacturer has made only subtle changes to the look of its smallest model the 208 over several new model releases. Let’s face it, it’s always been a stylish little hatch. But the new generation Peugeot 208, the 2020 model, is creating a lot of interest and was recently awarded Europe’s Car of the Year 2020.

She is due to make her first appearance on the Australian market sometime in 2020 so keep an eye out or check in with your local Peugeot dealer. And of course, contact Jade Car Loans for pre-approved finance so you’re sorted.

Turbo Times with Toyota Yaris

Also in the mainstream and coming late 2020 is the new rally-bred GR Yaris from Toyota. Noted as a ‘hot hatch’ the GR is sure to tick a lot of boxes for both urban driving and those who like to put their wheels through the paces on rally courses.

Car Finance Lending Update

At the start of the COVID-19 crisis, the banks and many lenders stepped in to support their customers with loan deferral arrangements. Most of these were put in place for 4-6 months and the expiration is approaching. As we are accredited with many banks and lenders, several have reached out to Jade Car Loans to advise us of their plans as the initial deferral period comes to an end.

Most lenders will be reaching out to their customers to discuss their situation and either transition them back to their normal repayment schedule or make other arrangements. If you entered into a deferral arrangement regarding your car loan and that timeframe is close to end, we would advise you to contact your lender so you have certainty over the next phase. Additionally, using tools like a business car loan calculator can help you assess and plan your future repayments.

On the interest rate front, the RBA has held rates at the current low levels at their recent board meeting. So, with regard to business car loan interest rates, we expect to be in a position to continue to offer the best car loans at the best interest rates for some time to come.

So that’s what’s around the corner and what you can look forward to. If you would like to get your commercial car loans arranged for any of the new models due, contact your Jade consultant for a pre-approved car loan.
